About Cosmos

Who we are

Cosmos manufactures state-of-the-art ICT solutions and services that speed up and automate the day-to-day management and operation of container terminals.

Although this requires a high level of automation, this does not mean our systems are inflexible or inaccessible. Rather the opposite: the behavior of our solutions is determined by parameters and settings that are largely user-definable. As a result, our solutions are fully customizable and can be tuned to any terminal’s actual situation (size, type, and even level of automation). In short, our products are out-of-the-box yet tailor-made.

Our background

In the 1980s we started developing container terminal applications as the IT department of Hessenatie, Belgium's leading terminal operators.

In 1992 Cosmos was incorporated as an independent company, allowing us to share our experience and knowhow regarding the optimization of terminal and stevedoring operations around the world. Over the years, our solutions have found satisfied customers on all five continents.

So, in contrast to other container software manufacturers, Cosmos was born from a terminal operator background and therefore also takes the terminal operator's approach when developing software solutions that best answer the needs of today.

With the merger of our parent company into PSA HNN in 2002, Cosmos became part of the PSA group, a leading global port operator home-based in Singapore.
